Lakeside Success at Orem

Posted Sunday, January 18, 2009 by Troy Hughes
This past weekend the Lakeside Eagles made the long journey from Spokane to Orem, Utah just outside of Salt Lake City for the annual Rocky Mountain Rumble. This is the largest regular season tournament for the eagles and one of the largest this side of the Mississippi River. This multi-state (some as far as Arizona) 64 man bracket two day tournament is also one of the toughest. After the 15-hour bus ride the eagles the next day started the tournament. And the tournament did not dissapoint. All the eagles wrestlers were faced with challenges and all got plenty of matches and experience. In the end the eagles placed three wrestlers, the first at 119 was Bryan Buamgarden who finished 7th. Josh Lauderdale finished tied for 5th (due to match count rules) after losing his first match.
And with a 16-3 victory Jacob Lauderdale won the 125 championship and also recieved the most outstanding wrestler for the tournament. The eagles finished 11th as a team out of 64. We appreciate the fans who could make the trip and hope for continued support
