Where are they now?

With the 2009-2010 college wrestling season now under way, many of our former wrestlers are beginning their season. First is Levi Jones. Levi was a state finalist three years in a row, winning the championship his senior year. He also led his teams to state championships three out of four years. Levi now wrestles for Boise State University where he was the first Lakeside athlete to qualify for the NCAA National Championships. Recently Levi wrestled in a dual against both Wisconsin and Oregon State where he beat Michael Mangrum of OSU, the 13th ranked wrestler in the nation. This match can be viewed on flowrestling.com.
Jacob Lauderdale is also wrestling division-1. Jacob finished fourth as a freshman, and then won three straight state championships helping the eagles to the title as a junior. Jacob is signed with Oregon State University and will red-shirt his freshman year. Jacob has wrestled in two open tournaments, finishing sixth and in Spokane third, compiling a record of 11-4.
Also at this tournament was former eagle Wes McAdam. Wes was a solid wrestler winning a state title his senior year leading the eagles to the state championship. He then went to Central Washington to play football and has now transferred to North Idaho College to wrestler for the Cardinals. Wes wrestled in the open in Spokane and went 1-2.
One of our former wrestlers has taken the jump from wrestler to coach. Robby Shaw is a former Lakeside standout who won a state title his senior year and helped the eagles win the state title his junior year. Robby then wrestled for North Idaho then Montana State University Northern where he had many successes. Robby is now coaching for MSUN. More reports on alumni to come.
