Pendleton Round-Up

Posted Thursday, December 31, 2009 by Josh Lauderdale
The Eagles made the long journey to Pendleton, Oregon to compete in the Free-Berry Invitational. Snow kept some of the teams from showing but Lakeside braved the roads and made it there safely. While the weather outside was cold, the Eagles wrestling was heating up. In there best showing all year Lakeside finished 5th in the team race, while crowning three champions. At 119, Mike Buamgarden dominated all his matches to win the first title for the Eagles. Josh Lauderdale (135) pinned all three of his oppenents within 45 seconds to win his weight class. And Tylor Labelle (145) scored four points in the third period of his final to put away his oppenent and take first. This also happened to be Tylor's first tournament victory in his high school career. Also placing for the Eagles was Chase Fuson (152) in third, Dallas Watkins (215) with fourth, Kyan Martin (145) in fifth place, Jacob Judd (140) with sixth, and rounding out the placings was Josh Torno (189) in eighth place.
Congrats to all the wrestlers. Next match is Tuesday against West Valley.
