Sweet, Sweet Revenge

Last week the Eagles and fans were shocked at what happened. Chewelah upset Lakeside to win the NEA league title. It has been several years since the Eagles did not win this title and was very upsetting. This gave Lakeside a whole new motivation to win districts. They did that and more in Newport as they easily outdistanced Chewelah to win the district championship. At 103 Jacob Ulland took care of business pinning his opponent in the finals becoming the district champ. Mike Buamgarden at 119 quickly took care of his man, pinning him earning his third district championship. Kyle Nardon at 125 finished the day in 4th qualifying for regionals. It was an all-Lakeside final at 135, with Josh Lauderdale winning his third district championship over Nick Morris. In the battle of the brothers, Jacob Judd (140) beat Josh Judd in overtime to win his first championship. Josh early that day beat the top ranked wrestler from Chewelah to earn a place in the finals. At 145, Tylor Labelle won his first district championship with a forfeit in the finals.  Kyan Martin also qualified at this weight. Chase Fuson turned around a 12-0 lost to his opponent to an 11-8 win in the 152 final to win the championship. Jimmy Spencer at 160 will be also moving on to regionals. At 189, Justin Hause wrestled tough but lost in the finals getting 2nd. Dallas Watkins continues his run pinning all his opponents at 215 to win the championship. And in the finale, Sean Thomas was unable to turn his match around losing in the finals. In all the Eagles had 7 champions and qualified 14 to regionals in Tonasket. Congrats Lakeside.
